July 8 – 9
Yesterday the groups (tents) prepared their artistic version, making the connection of Korczak to Korczakowo. This activity came to an end at 16:30 and we then met as a group in the dining room to set the tables with table cloths, wine cups, plates, etc. and to decorate the tents with flags. Kabalat Shabbat began at 19:00 It was a special meal with the delegation hosting the celebration.
After dinner we all gathered in the “Circus” the big tent (due to the pouring rain) where we sat as one big group and sang. Polish songs as always, some songs in English (specially learnt by the campers before our arrival, a song in Ukranian and finally a song in Hebrew (led by Shilo from last year’s group) – My Hat has Three Corners (לכובע שלי שלוש פינות) – the song that last year’s delegation taught the campers. \to my total surprise, they all still remembered the words and the hand movements.
We all then went to the abandoned building that was once used as a Summer Camp for the Hitler Jugen, the Nazi scouts. All the art presentations from the day’s work were put out on display to the light of candles which added so much to the general atmosphere. And what an amazing exhibition, the result of a single day’s work, amazing!! The winning tents received their awards and we then returned to the campsite in small groups.
A surprise was set up for the campers. They returned to the camp to the sound of “ghost” music and were led through a dark campsite to be met at strategic points by the counsellors who were transformed into ghosts and zombies, dressed and made up for the occasion. Scary and dramatic scenes, screams of fright – a perfect way to end the day’s activities. We got to bed way after midnight.
Today, Saturday, was set as “Israeli Day”. In the morning we (the delegation leaders) sat with the counsellors and worked out the logistics for the morning activities. The campers were divided into 6 groups / workshops. Each station was manned by two Israeli’s who had pre-prepared their particular station. (Folk dancing; a song; the Western Wall; learning Hebrew; Geography; Technology). The groups learnt the Hebrew song and hand movements within the time schedule of 20 minutes. Likewise the dance. Quite an achievement.

היום שלנו התחיל בהתחלקות לקבוצות לפי אוהלים, קיבלנו משימה להציג את עקרונותיו של קורצ’אק ומהו קורצ’אק בשבילנו בעזרת ציור או פיסול. היו הרבה רעיונות מצוינים ויפים עד מאוד, העבודה על היצירות הייתה עד שעה 5 בערב. בשעה 5 כל המשלחת הישראלית התכנסה במטבח ושם התחלנו לדבר ולסדר את חדר האוכל לקראת הקידוש, שמנו מפות לבנות ועיצבנו את החדר עם דגלי ישראל ,זה הרגיש בבית. כולם התבקשו להגיע עם בגדים לבנים ומסודרים. בשעה 7 החל הקידוש ,הפולנים, האוסטרלים והאוקראינים הקשיבו לקידוש שלנו וכיבדו אותנו מאוד. זה היה מדהים.
אחרי הארוחה הייתה לנו פעילות באוהל “הקרקס” ושרנו שירים בפולנית ,אנגלית ואפילו בעברית ואוקראינית. לאחר מכן יצאנו מחוץ לכותלי המחנה ושם הייתה תערוכה גדולה של כל יצירות האומנות שהכנו בצהריים הוצגו שם . המקום היה מחנה קיץ של נאצים ,הוא היה מעוצב ומקושט מאוד. שם הכריזו על הקבוצות הזוכות ביניהם הקבוצה של נועה ושילה שזכו במקום ה-2. הקבוצה של רוזל, בר ורינת זכו בתעודת שבח וגם הקבוצה של נתנאל וטל. הערב לא נגמר שם ,אחרי כל הפרסים התייצבנו לפני בית האימה של המחנה קורצ’אקובו. התחלקנו לקבוצות וכל קבוצה עברה בין כל התחנות וכל תחנה הייתה מלחיצה יותר מהשנייה .
יום למחרת קמנו בבוקר ואחרי הארוחה התחיל היום הישראלי ,כל המחנה התחלק לשש קבוצות ואת אחד מהתחנות העביר ישראלי אחד או 2 .בתחנות היו פעילויות כמו : לימוד עיברית, ריקודי עם, טכנולוגיה ישראלית , גאוגרפיה ישראלית , ולימוד השיר “ארץ ישראל שלי “. כל הילדים נהנו מאוד מהתחנות וכך גם הישראלים .
אחרי היום הישראלי הייתה לנו פעילות על קורצא’ק שבה התחלקנו ל-12 קבוצות וכל קבוצה הייתה צריכה לקרוא על הנושא שהיא קיבלה ולאחר מכן להציג את זה בצורה יצירתית. .
ב 19:00 הייתה לנו ארוחת ערב. את כל היום הזה, יום הישראלי, ליווה פליי-ליסט של שירים בעברית.
כולנו מתגעגעים ושולחים חיבוקים ונשיקות למשפחה ולהורים .
